Respect for Life

Observe without harming the insect, then release it back into nature. This encourages a true scientific approach: search , capture, observe, and record.

A lesson in science—but above all, in kindness—that no screen can teach.

Adopted in my fifth-grade class

I was already using the Adventure Microscope in science class with my students, so when I saw the Insect Catcher on the website, I ordered it without hesitation. The result: our trip to the playground turned into a real expedition. The students catch a small creature without touching it, observe it up close, and then examine it under the microscope to see its legs and antennae on the screen. They record everything in their experiment notebooks, and we release the insect at the end. Even my most reserved students got into it. It was a real lesson about living things—and, above all, about respect.

Frequently Asked Questions

From what age?

Ages 3 and up. Children can start playing right away, without adult assistance.

Does it hurt the insects?

No. The trap is designed to capture insects gently. We recommend releasing the insect after 10 minutes, back where it was found.

My child is afraid of insects—is this appropriate?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

Yes, it's actually ideal: he observes from a distance, without coming into contact. Fear often turns into curiosity. Just stay away from bees and wasps.

Is it compatible with the Adventure Microscope?

Yes. You can place the insect trap under the microscope, or transfer the insect to it. That's our little explorers' favorite combination.

What if my child doesn't like it?

The perfect combination with the microscope

We already had the Adventure Microscope; that was the only thing missing. Now my son catches an ant, looks at it under the dome, and then examines it under the microscope. He spends his afternoons in the garden.

    No Longer Afraid of Insects

My daughter used to scream whenever she saw a spider. With the bug catcher, she keeps her distance and finally dares to look. Yesterday, she showed me a woodlouse and told me it had 14 legs. I can't believe it.

A gift that really hit the mark

I gave it to my grandson for his 6th birthday, along with the notebook. He video-called me that same evening to show me “his beetle.” For once, it wasn’t a toy forgotten in a corner.
Thanks from me and my grandson Gabriel—

    for little creatures

Perfect for ants, ladybugs, and pill bugs. It’s a little too small for big beetles, but my son is okay with that. We love the “observe and release” approach.

    "Cool uncle" status: confirmed

I was looking for a fun little gift for my niece. She didn't put it down all weekend and sent me photos of every single catch. Unbeatable value for money.
